Those were the ashes of Kodo Fuyuki in that box. I believe that was one of his wishes for the ashes to go up in explosion.

The box contains the ashes of the opponent for the match, Kodo Fuyuki. Fuyuki was a wrestler/promotor for FMW in the later years. After FMW folded he ran WEW. He was feuding with Hashimoto and had signed for an Exploding Barbed Wire Match....Unfortuantely he died before the match took place. His friend, Kintaro Kanemura, took his place in the match. Both he and Hashimoto took turns before the match throwing themselves into the barbed wire as a form of respect to Fuyuki.

This is such a wonderful video, and such a great tribute to the sport of Puroresu. The part at the end with Hashimoto had me just about cry.
