Its ain't called a fighting sport (at least a violent sport) for no reason. They're tough trainers and they keep up with tough diets. They don't just eat a lot, they have nutritionists that way it keeps them both heavy but efficient at same time instead of becoming a blob of useless fat.

You should watch carefully the high speed at which the most corpulent Sumo wrestlers throw themselves at the opponent, from a still standing position, right at the start. A tremendous force and agility is required to dislocate that much weight in such a way.
Some fights go on at a frenetic pace, requiring great agility and force, when they try to grab the adversary's cloth, so it is not a matter of simply throwing weight at each other.

@MrMynameisblack Have you ever tried to shove a 500 pound guy? My guess is yeah, they might not be able to do pushups because of their physique, but they are FAR from weak.

@GlenJamesTurner Grappling would be easy when they fall over

@MrMynameisblack Even if they can't, I reckon fighting a guy that size is guna be hard work mate. All ur hits would be absorbed by the fat, and I'd hate to let him get close enough to grapple,,,, argh Down I'd go.
